Variety is reporting that Graham King is bringing Lara Croft back to life in a reboot of the "Tomb Raider" film franchise. The film is aimed at a 2013 release.
King and Tim Headington will produce via their GK Films banner, which announced Monday that it had acquired feature rights from Japanese videogame company Square Enix Ltd.
"We are very excited to be rebooting what is already a hugely successful film franchise and continuing the Tomb Raider phenomenon," King said.
Paramount produced a pair of films - 2001's "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" and 2003's "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life," both starring Angelina Jolie as the Brit archaeologist - with combined worldwide grosses totaling $432 million.
